SBE ANNOUNCES THE INDUSTRY'S FIRST PTMC MODULE FOR TELEPHONY APPLICATIONS
SAN RAMON, CA, June 7, 2001-SBE Inc. (NASDAQ: SBEI), continuing its role as a leading provider of advanced telecommunications solutions, today announced its new wanPTMC-C4T1E1 product, the industry's first PCI Telecom Mezzanine Card (PTMC) module. The newly adopted PICMG 2.15 PTMC standard extends the popular PCI Mezzanine Card (PMC) module form factor to include telephony specific interfaces.
As the first member of SBE's wanPTMC product family of PTMC enabled interface modules, the wanPTMC-C4T1E1 complements the previously announced HighWire HW400c/M PTMC enabled CompactPCI core processing platform.

The wanPTMC-C4T1E1 incorporates PTMC technology for standardized local CT Bus access, four full-featured T1/E1/J1 interface ports and a high-density PCI based synchronous communications controller, yielding a standards-compliant interface module with unprecedented flexibility.
