- Rear I/O Transition Modules for PMCs on SBCs. PMC Interface Module (PIM) simplifies rear I/O from PMCs. The PMC vendor creates PMC & PIM pairs while the CPU or IO controller vendor creates CPU/IO & Transition module pairs. Rather than create a custom Transition Module for each combination of PMC and carrier board, the vendors need only create these module pairs once. PMC/PIM pairs can then be easily mixed on carrier cards without requiring new transition module artwork.
