PC·MIP is the new PCI-based mezzanine standard developed by
MEN Mikro Elektronik ("M-Modules") and SBS Greenspring ("IP modules").
PC·MIPs are designed to add multiple functions to all types of industrial
applications from small embedded systems up to high-end workstations in
the most modular, flexible and cost-effective way. PC·MIP graphics
accelerator P1 The core of MEN's first PCoMIP is the graphics accelerator
SMI910 by Silicon Motion. The SMI910 has a resolution of max. 1280x1024
pixels and a video frequency of 135MHz. It provides an SGRAM interface
with 83MHz and supports two independent hardware windows. Via DMA, the
P1 can transmit data from graphics memory to the host (and vice versa)
on its own. Both SVGA and flat display control are implemented on the P1
and can simultaneously display different applications at the same time.
The CRT signals are led to a 15-pin HD-Sub connector at the front while
LCD signals are led to the carrier board via the 64-pin connector. The
P1 has a standard graphics RAM of 2MB. The PC·MIP is ready to run
with the standard Plug and Play driver for Windows95/WindowsNT by Silicon
Motion. Price is USD 435.- / DM 790.- plus VAT for single units. CompactPCI
carrier board D202 The first carrier board for PCoMIPs is a double Eurocard,
providing space for a total of six PCoMIPs. There are four slots for PCoMIPs
of Type II (with additional front I/O connector) at the front panel of
the D202. Two further slots in the rear area of the carrier board accommodate
PCoMIPs of Type I (without front I/O connector). Price is USD 660.- / DM
1190.- plus VAT for single units.
