- P1-Octal-232: (from SBS Technologies)
- P1-Octal-232 provides eight channels of EIA-232 asynchronous serial communication on a Type I (flexible I/O) PC·MIP module. Its high channel density makes it ideal for communications applications that require a large number of serial channels in a small space. Type II (front panel I/O) and EIA-422 versions of this product are also available. The P1-Octal-232 features two quad UART SCCs, with 128 bytes of transmit FIFO and 128 bytes of receive FIFO per channel. Data rates of up to 115 kbaud are supported. Each channel has four serial signals: TxD, RxD, CTS and RTS. Signals are routed to the flexible I/O connector for rear-panel access. Additionally, all signals are ESD-protected up to ±15 kV, according to IEC 1000.4.2 specifications. Baud rate is software configurable from 50 bps to 460.8 kbps, via the on-board programmable baud rate generator. Interrupts are fully supported per channel, with four programmable transmit/receive FIFO interrupt trigger levels. In addition, programmable bit length, parity and stop bits are provided to support all asynchronous protocols.

- P2-HSS2 Serial provides two channels of high-speed serial data communications channels on a single-wide PC-MIP module. It can be used in many data communications, LAN/WAN networking, and telecommunications applications. A maximum data rate of 10 Mbit/sec is supported for synchronous protocols utilizing an external clock. Up to 2 Mbit/sec is supported for asynchronous protocols. Each of the two channels is fully programmable to support many high performance serial communications protocols, such as asynchronous, monosync, bisync, HDLC, SDLC, LAPB, LAPD, ISDN, and PPP. The P2-HSS2 Serial supports a wide selection of physical interfaces, configurable by software alone. Channels can be individually selected as RS-232, RS-422, EIA-449, EIA-530, or V.35. Seven signal pairs for each channel are available at the front panel I/O connector. An optional transition cable is available to interface the 36-pin front panel I/O connector to two DB25s.
